Set high in the hills of Umbria, with panoramic views to the bucolic countryside, this artfully restored 400m² country house has 4 bedrooms which can accommodate up to 8 guests. Originally built in 1950 and restored in 2009, this property is a delightful home base for discerning travellers who want to explore the nature and antiquities of Umbria and Tuscany - travellers who are not afraid to drive on a typical Umbrian country road. Close to Perugia but just 5 miles away from the Tuscan border, this property is less than an hour drive from many historic hilltop villages. Florentine painters have repainted the walls and restored the ceilings using the original colours - pale greens, violets and yellows. Guests’ favourite pastime is generally reading on the south facing lawn or at the large pool, pausing only to take in the magnificent views of the mountain ranges. There are plenty of paths for long walks on the hillside behind the house (the estate features 3 hectares of private grounds) and the staff of the villa can provide guests with specially prepared picnic baskets. Private cooking classes, truffle hunting, wine tasting as well as biking, hiking and water colour painting classes are regularly organised. We would also recommend a visit to the famous 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. for all golfers. The estate’s gardens produce a wide array of herbs and vegetables, and our vineyards merlots and cabernets.
